Dr. Katherine Callahan

Dr. Katherine Callahan, DNP
Co-Founder, Environmental/Healthcare Activist & Whistleblower

Katherine cares deeply about the health of our community—not profit margins. As a former Madison County Deputy Coroner, she pushed for a proper morgue facility, only to be underfunded and bullied by local officials. Forced to work in unsafe conditions, she later became a whistleblower, exposing political corruption and public health violations. Despite retaliation and public ridicule, Dr. Callahan has taken on powerful county officials—and won. She now brings that same courage to Madison County Water Watch, helping uncover the county-wide neglect of our water infrastructure. Residents continue to reach out to her for answers, advocacy, and hope.

Nicole (Schuyler) Kapuscinski

Co-Founder & Environmental Activist, & Whistleblower

Nicole is a passionate environmental activist and U.S. Army combat veteran with specialized training in biohazard chemical transport and weapons of mass destruction detection. Her drive to protect public health is rooted in personal tragedy: her mother contracted an incurable disease from groundwater contamination in Anderson, Indiana, at just six years old. Nicole witnessed her mother suffer for decades before her passing on November 1, 2024—a loss that fuels her mission to prevent future harm and hold polluters accountable.

Through Madison County Water Watch, Nicole leads efforts to expose environmental negligence, demand transparency, and fight for clean, safe water for all. Her unique blend of scientific training, firsthand experience, and unwavering commitment to justice makes her a formidable force in local environmental advocacy.
